Besides being one of the most important tourist destinations in our country due to its luxurious stores, world-class restaurants and various entertainment options, Marbella is known for having some of the best courses of not only Costa del Sol, but of all of Spain. The city offers up to 16 golf courses, being home to some internationally renowned clubs. If you’re a fan of this sport, today on Hotel Pyr we bring you a selection of the best golf courses in Marbella.

  1. Real Club Valderrama

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, this golf course made history by becoming the first Spanish golf course –and the first one outside Great Britain- to host the Ryder Cup in 1997. Even though it had already held nine editions of the Volvo Masters earning the recognition of players of high prestige, this event turned it into the number one course of the European continent.

  1. Finca Cortesín Golf Club

This 18-hole golf course was designed by prestigious designer Cabell Robinson. It stands out due to its length –6,808 meters, no less– and due to the great variety of plant species that can be seen in it. But besides its wonderful course, this field has no two equal holes, which makes the game much more pleasing.

  1. Santana Golf

This golf course was also built by Cabell B. Robinson and has 6,207 meters of flat terrain which makes it easier to traverse. A long field with wide, well delimited fairways with 5 Teeing ground holes with wide putting greens surrounded by well-maintained sand traps filled with marble dust. Furthermore, the green distribution, bunkers and water hazards put the player’s skills to the test.

  1. Los Naranjos Golf Club

Designer Robert Trent Jones always considered it as one of his best creations. Its large wavy greens, ample fairways and water hazards on several holes are a true challenge even for the most experienced players. With perfect conditions and constant course improvement programs, it is undoubtedly one of the best courses in all of Costa del Sol.

  1. Flamingos Golf

Designed by architect Antonio García Garrido. A course with a length of 5,714 meters, 18 holes and par 71. All of it surrounded by beautiful vistas and a wide range of tree species and unmatched views of the Mediterranean Sea. Sizable greens, narrow fairways in the first part of the course and marble dust bunkers crown this astounding golf course.
