Marbella is a superb vacation destination – a city with 320 sunny days per year that lets you enjoy the beach as well as sports and other outdoors activities which can be enjoyed not only during the summer, but also in winter. Suitable for children as well as adults, whether travelling with family or friends. And that’s because there’s not a moment of boredom in this city. Which is why if you’re thinking about vacationing in Marbella, we bring you a few things you can do during your stay.

a. Play golf

Marbella is known across the globe for the quality of its golf courses which can be enjoyed year-round. Just within the city surroundings, it’s possible to enjoy 10 golf courses of the highest quality, such as the renowned Río Real Golf (just a 5-minute drive from the city) or the Aloha Golf Club. Both designed by the best designer of golf courses in Spain, Javier Arana.

b. Enjoy the beach and paseo marítimo (seafront promenade)

If you’re planning to visit Marbella during the summer, you obviously cannot miss out on its beaches. But if you will be visiting in winter, you’ll also be able to enjoy strolling about the paseo marítimo (seafront promenade), with a length of over 10 km (6 mi) starting in the city itself and leading to Puerto Banús.

c. Go shopping

Marbella offers tourists three major shopping areas: the old town, Puerto Banús and la Cañada. Several stores are spotted around the old town’s white, narrow, flowery streets. Puerto Banús is the most glamorous area, with major designer stores. And La Cañada is a modern shopping mall that was chosen as the best shopping mall in Spain in 2003.

d. Gastronomy

Another upside to vacationing in Marbella is the city’s gastronomy. A world of restaurants with food of all kinds and where most of them are open all year. If the weather allows it, you can enjoy the traditional chiringuitos (beach bars) with a view of the sea. But during the night we recommend you lose yourself at the Plaza de los Naranjos (Orange Tree Park), located amidst the old town, where you can do a tapas tour across its many restaurants. If you’re looking for haute cuisine, nothing tops Puerto Banús, where you’ll find restaurants of renowned chefs.

e. Nearby tours

Marbella’s privileged location makes the city an ideal Costa del Sol destination in order to visit nearby places less than one hour away. Such is the case of cities like Ronda or Malaga. Cities such as Granada or Seville are approximately a three-hour drive away and are well worth visiting just to admire the beauty of their historic and artistic heritage.
